Station B. WASHINGTON, D.C. Call, OF ¢ As to Football Championships. [Harvard Crimson.] There is just one thing to be said about the football season of 1899 and that is (as we said before the Harvard- Yale game had been played) that foot- ball championships have become things of the past and any claim to that title this year must be based solelv on con- jecture. In a year which has been con- spicuous for muddles, any college or university which makes such a claim must be regarded as caring less for foot- ball as a sport than as a means of adver- tising its athletics prowess. As Presi- dent Hadley has said, “this is profes- sionalism of the subtlest kind.” ———_»0e——___- Robinson Latin Prizes. The conditions under which the Lucius F.
