    SENIOR SOCIETY ELECTIONS
The Men Chosen from the Junior
Class—Their College Careers,
The elections to the three Senior
Societies were given out on the Cam-
pus, Thursday, May 20, in the usual
manner. Below are printed the lists
and the records of the different men:
SKULL AND BONES.
Corliss Esmonde Sullivan, Cleveland,
O., given by W. E. S. Griswold. Mr.
Sullivan prepared for College at the
University School of Cleveland. He is
a member of Eta Phi, Delta Kappa
Epsilon, and the Eta Phi Campaign
Committee and is Chairman of the
Delta Kappa Epsilon Campaign Com-
mittee. He caught on his Freshman
baseball team, was Captain of the Fresh-
man football team and has played for
two years on the University baseball
team. He was also substitute on the —
paige ay football teams: of 1897 and
1808.
George Armstrong Lyon, Jr., Erie,
Pa., given by J. McD. Magee. Mr.
Lyon prepared for College at Lawrence-
ville. He is a’ member of- Kappa Psi,
Delta Kappa Epsilon and is the Custos
of Delta Kappa Epsilon. He played
center field on his Freshman baseball
team and has acted as coach of the
Freshman nines for two years. He is
a member of the University Glee Club,
and is Secretary of the University Base-
ball Association. : |
Ashley Day Leavitt, Melrose, Mass.,
given by C. H. Welles, Jr. Mr. Leavitt
prepared for College at Cambridge
Latin School and is-a member of Psi
Upsilon. He was a member of the
debating team which defeated Prince-
ton last Fall, a Chairman of the Junior
Wigwam, and is President of the Yale
Union for the coming year.
Hulbert Taft, Cincinnati, O., given
by F. H. Brooke. Mr. Taft prepared
for College at Franklin School, Cin-
cinnatii He is a member of Eta Phi
and Delta Kappa Epsilon, and is an
editor of the Yale Literary Magazine.
John Walter Cross, New York City,
given by C. F. Sweet. Mr. Cross pre-
pared for College at Groton. He is a
member of He Boulé and Psi Upsilon.
He rowed No. 5 on his Freshman crew,
vas a substitute on last year’s Wni-
versity crew and is a member of the
present College eight.
John Morgan Hopkins, Decherd,
Tenn., given by Ord Preston. Mr.
Hopkins is a member of Alpha Delta
Phi, Business Manager of the Yale
Literary Magazine, was one of the Chair-
men of the Sophomore Wigwam in
1898, and is Vice-President of the re-
rently organized German Club. He
was awarded the Waterman Scholarship
for the Class of 1900, and is a member
of Phi Beta Kappa.
Frederick Baldwin Adams, Toledo,
O., given by T. S. Maffitt. Mr. Adams
prepared for College at St. Paul’s
School. He is a member of He Boulé,
Alpha Delta Phi, the He Boulé Cam-
paign Committee, and the Alpha Delta
Phi Campaign Committee, and is Vice-
President of Alpha Delta Phi. He is
Chairman of the Yale Daily News, a
Class Deacon and was a member of the
1900 Sophomore German and Junior
Promenade Committees. He was Sec-
retary of the University Football Asso-
ciation for 1898, and received a High
Oration appointment.
Stuart Brown Camp, West Winsted,
Conn., given by H. T. Bowles. Mr.
Camp prepared for College at Hotch-
kiss He is a member of Eta Phi,
Alpha Delta Phi, the Eta Phi Cam-
paign ‘Committee and is Chairman of
the Alpha Delta Phi Campaign Com-
mittee. He was Chairman of the
Sophomore German Committee and
Floor Manager of the Junior Prome-
nade Committee. He played shortstop
on the University baseball team in his
Freshman year, and has since held that
position regularly. area.
James Cowan Greenway, Hot
Spring, Ark., given by Jamot Brown.
Mr. Greenway prepared at Andover.
He is a member of He Boulé and Psi
Upsilon, and is Chairman of both the
He Boulé and the Psi Upsilon Cam-
paign Committees. He was a member
of both Sophomore German and Junior
Promenade Committees. He rowed
No. 4 in the 1897 University crew, was
substitute on the 1898 University crew
and is Captain of the present College
crew. He is also a member of the Uni-
versity Glee Club.

Malcolm Douglas, Albany, N. Y.,
given by S. D. Ames. Mr. Douglas
prepared for College at Andover. He
is a member of Eta Phi and Psi Upsi-
lon, was Chairman of the Eta Phi Cam-
paign Committee and was President of
Psi Upsilon during the Fall term. He
was one of the Junior Promenade Com-
mittee, has been a member of the Uni-
versity Glee Club, and was a substitute
on his. Freshman eleven. ;
William Sloane Coffin, New York
City, given by D. H. Day. Mr. Coffin
prepared for College at Cutler’s School.
He is a member of Kappa Psi and Delta
Kappa Epsilon. He was Recording
Secretary of the ¥. M. C. A. im his
Freshman year, and is at present Under-
graduate Treasurer of that organiza-
tion. He is also Chairman of the City
Missions Committee, which superin-
tended the erection of the Yale Hall, and
of the Executive Committee of the Yale
Union. He won the TenEyck Prize
Speaking and is President of Phi Beta
Kappa, having received a Philosophical
Oration appointment.
Frank Dexter Cheney, South Man-
chester, Conn, given by M. T. Adams.
Mr. Cheney prepared for College at
Hotchkiss. He is a member of He
Boulé, Delta Kappa Epsilon, the He
Boulé Campaign Committee and the
Delta Kappa Epsilon Campaign Com-
mitte. He was Treasurer of the Fresh-
man football team, a member of the
University track team for 1898 and 1899,
and is Manager of the University Glee
and Banjo Clubs. He is also a member
of the Governing Board of the Univer-
sity Club. :
Percy Avery Rockefeller, New York
City, given by H. A. Callahan. Mr.
Rockefeller prepared for College under
a tutor. He is a member of Kappa
Psi, Alpha Delta Phi, the Kappa Psi
Campaign Committee and the Alpha
Delta Phi Campaign Committee. He
was a member of the Sophomore Ger-
man Committee and Chairman of the
Junior Promenade Committee. He is
the President of the University Football
Association for the coming year and a
member of the Governing Board of the
University Club. . ,
Brace Whitman Paddock, Pittsfield,
Mass., given by A. G. Vanderbilt. Mr.
Paddock prepared for College at Hotch-
kiss. He is a member of He Boulé and
Delta Kappa Epsilon. He is a mem-
ber of the Governing Board of the Uni-
versity Club, and also Secretary of that
organization.
Frederick Winthrop Allen, Walpole,
Mass., given by William Fitz-Hugh
Whitehouse, Jr. Mr. Allen prepared
for College at Andover. He is a mem-
ber of He Boulé and Delta Kappa Ep-
silon. He rowed No. 6 on the 1897 and
1898 University crews and is Captain
of the present University crew. He
was also a substitute on his Freshman
football team. He was tapped at 6.15
P. M.
SCROLL AND KEY.
William Ernst Minor of Covington,
Ky., given by L. E. Stoddard. Mr.
Minor prepared for College at Franklin
School, Cincinnati. He is a member of
Kappa Psi, of the Campaign Committee
of Delta Kappa Epsilon, and Assistant
Manager of the University Bicycle As-
sociation. :
William Biddle Williams of Haver-
ford, Pa., given by W. B. Conner. Mr.
Williams prepared for College at De
Lancy School, Philadelphia. He was
a member of the Kappa Psi Campaign
Committee for his Sophomore year, and
received ati election to Alpha Delta
Phi for his Junior year. He stroked the
1900 Class crew, last year’s University
crew, and holds the same position on
the present University eight.
Frederick Charles Havemeyer of New
York City, given by C. A. Brayton, Jr.
Mr. Havemeyer was prepared for Col-
lege by a private tutor. He is a mem-
ber of Kappa Psi, Delta Kappa Epsi-
lon, the Yale Golf team and the Uni-
versity Club Governing Board.
Robert Stevenson, Jr., of Chicago,
Ill., given by Huntington Mason. Mr,
Stevenson entered College from An-
dover. He is a member of He Boulé
and Delta Kappa Epsilon.
Charles Lewis Tiffany, 2d, of New
York City, given by C. H. Conner, Jr.
Mr. Tiffany was prepared at the Hotch-
kiss School. Since entering College he
has been elected to He Boulé, Psi Up-
silon and the position of Class Deacon.
Charles Wylie Mckelvey of Bridge-
port, Conn., given by H. G. Otis. Mr.
McKelvey prepared for College at the
Hotchkiss School. He is a member of
Eta Phi, Delta Kappa Epsilon and the
University Club Governing Board.
Frank Taylor Crawford of Mansfield,
Ohio, given by A. W. Davis. Mr.
Crawford since entering College, for
which he prepared at Andover, has been
elected a member of Eta Phi and Psi
Upsilon. He is one of thé University
Club Governing Board, and captained
his Freshman baseball team.
Matthew Mills of Chicago, IIl., given
by W. H. Field. Mr. Mills prepared for
College at Lakeside School, Chicago,
Ill. He is a member of the Sophomore
Society Kappa Psi, the Campaign Com-
mittee of Psi Upsilon, his Junior Prom
Committee and President of Dwight
Hall.
James Whitney Barney of New York
City, given by M. W. Dodge. His
college preparation was made at Gro-
ton School, and since his entrance he
has received an election to Delta Kappa
Epsilon and the Editorial Board of the
Yale Literary Magazine.
Crispin Oglebay of Kansas City, Mo.,
given by S. M. Hawley. Mr. Oglebay
entered College from St. Paul’s School.
He was Manager of his Freshman foot-
ball team, and is a member of Eta Phi
and Alpha Delta Phi.
Thomas Andrews Howell, Jr., of New
York City, given by J. H. Wear. Mr.
Howell prepared at the MHotchkiss
School. He received an election to
Kappa Psi for his Sophomore year, and
Psi Upsilon for his Junior year. He is
a member of the University Club
Governing Board.
Joseph Medill McCormick of Chi-
cago, Ill., given by T. W. Farnam. Mr.
McCormick before entering College
was prepared at Groton School. He is
a member of the Sophomore Society
Kappa Psi, and the Junior Society
Alpha Delta Phi, and is President of
‘the University Club.
David Rowland Francis, Jr., of St.
Louis, Mo., given by H. L. O’Fallon.
Mr. Francis since entering College, for
which he prepared at St. Paul’s School,
has been elected to He Boulé and Al-
pha Delta Phi. He secured second
place in the shot put event in the Dual
Games and is a substitute of the Uni-
versity football team. :
James Henry Niedecken of Milwau-
kee, Wis., given by M. C. Harvey. Mr.
Niedecken prepared at St. Paul’s
School. He is a member of He Boulé
and Delta Kappa Epsilon. He rowed
on his Freshman crew, on last year’s
University crew, and is one of the Uni-
versity eight at present.
Malcolm Lee McBride of Cleveland,
Ohio, given by J. B. Adams. Mr. Mc-
Bride entered College from the Univer-
sity School of Cleveland, Ohio, and
has since been elected a member of He
Boulé, Alpha Delta Phi and the Uni-
versity Club Governing Board. He has
played on the University football team
for two years and next year will captain
it. He was tapped at 5.57 P. M.
WOLF’S HEAD.
George Wolcott Hubbell, Jr., of
Greenwich, Conn., given by A. C. Good-
year. He prepared at St. Paul’s School,
Concord, N. H. Mr. Hubbell is a
member of Eta Phi and Alpha Delta
Phi and played end on his Freshman
and ’98 University football teams.
Howard Boocock of Brooklyn, N.
Y., given by W. DeL. Kountze. He
prepared for Yale under a tutor and is
a member of Kappa Psi and Psi Upsilon.
John Penn -Brock ‘of Lebanon, Pas
given by GC. D. Berry, Jr. He prepared
at St. Paul’s School and was Captain
of the 1900 Freshman crew. He rowed
on the University crew last year and
is a member of the present College
crew. Mr. Brock is a member of
Kappa Psi and Alpha Delta Phi.
Roswell Miller Patterson of New
York City, given by R. P. Loomis.
He prepared for College under a tutor.
Mr. Patterson rowed on the 1900
Freshman crew, is President of the Yale
Gymnastic Association, and is a mem-
ber of Kappa Psi and Psi Upsilon.
Morgan Bulkeley Brainard of Hart-
ford, Conn., given by R. E. Forrest.
Mr. Brainard prepared at the Hartford
High School and was President of Psi

Franklin Carter, Jr., of Williamstown,
Mass., given by John Reid, Jr. He en-
tered College in his Sophomore year
from Williams, is a member of Psi Up-
silon and is Manager of the Hockey
- team.
Keyes Winter of Indianapolis, Ind.,
given by H. H. Hollister, Jr. He
prepared at St. Paul’s School and is a
member of Delta Kappa Epsilon. Mr.
Winter was a substitute on his Fresh-
man football team and was a member
of the squad in ’97 and ’98. He is also
an editor of the Record.

Reid Wins Again.
The tournament for the golf cham-
pionship of the University, which be-
gan May 14, was won last Wednesday,
In the finals,
Mr. Reid defeated W. B. Smith, ’99, by
5 up and 3 to play. His victory gives
him a silver medal and temporary pos-
session of the championship trophy.
The consolation was won by A. T.
Dwight, 1900S., who defeated Philip
Cheney, 1901, by 3 up and 1 to play.
