TALE ALUMNI WEEKLY BASEBALL. Yale’s General Work Improves, but Brown Wins the Series. The University nine left New Haven on Thursday night for a four days’ trip, playing the Newton A. A. team Friday, Andover on Saturday and Brown on Monday. Though handi- capped in recent practice by the con- tinued rainy weather, the work both in the field and at the bat showed a great inprovement and those who have been watching the Nine feel much encour- aged. Fearey settled down on Mon- day and allowed the Brown batters but eight hits. The injured arm, which was largely responsible for his recent unsat- isilactory work, is much improved and it is expected that he will be in good condition for Saturday’s game. W. F. Carter, 95, was with the Nine the early part of the week. Yale, 9—Newton A. C., 8. Yale defeated the Newton Athletic Club team in a close and interesting game, on Friday, at Newton Center.
