Inspiration and Prosperity.
There is a great deal of truth in the
quaint saying of that old divine who
told us that, ‘‘ Prosperity is a hen which
likes to lay where there is a nest egg.”
All of us are seeking prosperity, and
inspiration is what most of us need to
find it. Any hen will tell you by her
actions that a nest egg is only an inspi-
ration after all: she knows it is china.
There are some men who have |
never saved anything, and who come
at length to that hopeless pass in
which they never expect to save any-
thing. Once they have grown so to
feel and instantly all definite effort
ceases. But fortunately, for the good
of the world, this party is not as numer-
ous as the opposition—the men who
awaken to find themselves possessed
of a little surplus, who feel more pleas-
ure than surprise in the discovery, and
who straightway proceed to repeat
those processes which produced that
pleasure, only to find increased enjoy-
ment as their savings grow. In such
cases as these the relish for business is
freshened, industry and enterprise are
stimulated, prudence and economy are
cultivated, and the man himself is on
high road to prosperity. 3
Resolve, then, to have a nest egg.
Put a little pressure upon yourself and
circumstances to produce it. Wheére
there is a will, there is always a way.
